When I first started at LSU, NOMAS was a resource and introduction to a community with similar experiences and backgrounds. As leadership opportunities arose, I was determined to participate and help the chapter flourish. I served as the Treasurer from May 2019 to December 2020. During that time, the officers attended the 2019 NOMA Conference in New York where I raised funds by fundraising through the school and petitioning the Student Government Organization Relief Fund for their support. I also participated in NOMAS' primary outreach program, Light-a-Fire, which is focused on introducing high school students from local schools to the basics of design.
VSA-LSU is a student organization that focuses on spreading awareness of Vietnamese culture and creating a voice in the local community. VSA has helped me connect with peers of similar background and maintain connections with the community at LSU.
SASE is a recently founded chapter within the College of Engineering that is a community for preparing members of Asian heritage for the professional business world and celebrating diversity in engineering.
As an continuing on-campus resident, I wanted to join my local Community Council to meet other people and represent ECA. I began as an RHA Ambassador that participated in hosting and planning events for the ECA community. When I was nominated and accepted the Historian position, I took meeting minutes weekly and documented events through photography. I was also tasked several time to lead meetings and events in the absence of higher positions.
